Next Monday, we meet Daniel R. Amor, junior professor at QBio, for a seminar on "Predicting COllective Dynamics and Ecological functions in MIcrobial Communities (CODEMIC)"

Abstract :

I'd like to share our group's research plan while taking advantage to give a practice talk for an interview for the Jeunes Équipes at the Institut de Physique du Collège de France.  The practice talk will last 25 minutes (including past work and future plans) + 15 for questions, and I'll be happy to continue with any potential discussions before/after lunch.  Our group strives to develop quantitative understanding on eco-evolutionary dynamics of microbial communities and the performance of community functions—observables that result from interactions arising not only between microbial species, but also between microbes and their environment. Over the next few years, we aim at i) Learning the functional landscape of collective antibiotic resistance, ii) bridging ecological mechanisms and landscapes for community functions, and iii) developing methods for the frugal assessment of microbial community dynamics and functions.
