For the next FRESK seminar, we will meet Argo Mukherjee (LPENS) for a talk on "Spatial coordination of multicellular rhythms: close to a bifurcation”
Abstract :
Coordination of distinct cellular activities at large distances can emerge as a static spatial pattern of cellular fates or dynamic spatial activity such as global oscillations or waves. Despite their fundamental importance, how such dynamic global waves arise remain unclear. I will discuss some recent results on analysis and identification of such multicellular rhythms in space. Based on application of normal form theory and canonical models on some use-cases of developmental systems, I will propose some general insights on cell-cell couplings and frequency tuning in source-receiver dynamics.
