For the next FRESK seminar, let's meet Francesca Musiani (CIS-CNRS) for a seminar on the role of CIS (center for internet and society of CNRS)

Our guest, Francesca Musiani, is not a computational biologist; instead she is a researcher in sociology of science and technology, specialized in digital governance, and the director of the Center for Internet and Society (CIS), an interdisciplinary CNRS institution that investigates the geopolitical, environmental, political, and social impacts of the digital infrastructure.
Given the role that the digital infrastructure plays in computational biology research, as well as the growing interest in artificial intelligence, both as a focus of investigation within computational neuroscience as well as a tool within several other scientific fields, we've invited Francesca Musiani to provide an overview of CIS and its activities, many of which are open to the public. We also asked her to give us a general introduction to the environmental impacts of digital infrastructure, with a final focus on AI.
