Bruno Andreotti is a professor at Université Paris Cité, honorary member of Institut Universitaire de France and researcher at Laboratoire de Physique de l'Ecole Normale Supérieure (LPENS). Experimenter and theorician of soft matter and hydrodynamics, he worked on numerous subjects from wetting to polymeric materials, to leaves nervation and geomorpholgy of martian dunes.

Field of research

Bruno Andreotti works on the transmission of respiratory pathogens. He manages a project on an intervention plateform for crisis in case of new respiratory pathogen emergence (patient - animal modelisation - in vitro modelisation). This research project results from a multidisciplinary collaboration :

  • Hôpital Bichat-Claude Bernard (AP-HP/Université Paris Cité), one of the national reference structures for epidemic and biologic hazard, in first line to manage the very first patients infected in case of a crisis due to a new infectious decease. The departments of infectiology, virology and prevention of infectious hazard work with the IAME unit (Infection, Antimicrobials, Modelling, Evolution, Université Paris Cité-Inserm).
  • The national infrastructure for biology and health, dedicated to preclinical research via the development of new animal modelisation, from CEA (IDMIT)
  • Two virology teams (IPBS, IRIM) specialized in epithelium culture
  • The LPENS team
